Small businesses can get Energize Colorado funding

Energize Colorado is launching a program intended to help small businesses succeed.
The Energize Community Program prepares small business owners to successfully apply for loan capital. The program offers funding readiness workshops, low-interest gap fund loans up to $20,000, and an accelerator program valued at $1,200.
Pueblo is one of just four communities that will split $6 million in funding targeted for the program, said Kanitha Heng Snow, director of strategic partnerships and marketing for Energize Colorado. Participating businesses should have 25 employees or fewer.

Pueblo city staff focusing on youth with new training program
Pueblo has been selected as one of 13 cities to participate in the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation training program through Johns Hopkins University this year.
The no-cost program will provide consulting, training and networking for 11 Pueblo staffers to address a key issue facing its residents. Pueblo staff will focus on youth in the community through crime prevention, intervention and engaging youth programs, said Haley Sue Robinson, director of public affairs for the city.
“This type of partnership has not been offered to us before and I’m excited to see our core team participate in this training which is facilitated by experts from around the world,” said Pueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar.

Liquor sales and service training coming May 16 in Pueblo
LiquorPros is set to offer in-person seller and server training at 2 p.m. May 16 at the Pueblo Police Department community room, 200 S. Main St.
LiquorPros, an authorized Responsible Vendors Training entity approved by the Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division, will oversee the workshop. Cost is $35 per person, to be paid directly to LiquorPros the morning of the training with cash, check or credit card.
