
Air Cairo launches Tel Aviv – Sharm El Sheikh flights
Air Cairo has this week introduced a few weekly flights amongst Tel Aviv and Sharm El-Sheikh in the Sinai applying an Airbus 320. Air Cairo is a 60% owned subsidiary of the nationwide airline Egyptair.

Air Cairo joins a few Israeli airlines – El Al unit Sunshine D’Or, Arkia and Israir which each introduced 3 weekly flights involving Tel Aviv and Sharm El Sheikh in March, indicating that there are currently 12 weekly flights on the route. Egypt will permit the Israeli airways to each operate 5 weekly flights from the summer time.

Egyptair has operated Tel Aviv – Cairo flights for lots of many years but only past 12 months released planes painted with the carrier’s livery.

Egypt only makes it possible for travellers to fly to Sharm El Sheikh on return rather than a person-way tickets. A group of Israeli tourists touring in the Sinai who turned up yesterday at Sharm El Shiekh airport seeking to fly house were refused tickets and had to return to Taba by taxi.

Talking at Ben Gurion airport in a unique ceremony to start Air Cairo’s Tel Aviv – Sharm El Sheikh flights, Israel’s Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov reported, “Tourism signifies a bridgehead for creating diplomatic relations amongst nations. The historic peace settlement with Egypt and after it the agreement with Jordan and the Abraham Accords with the Gulf states have led to tourism cooperation, which cements the bridges in between the countries.
